Briony Benjamin, the executive producer of video at Mamamia, was just 31 years old when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin\u2019s Lymphoma and her world as she knew it changed. Life is Tough<\/em> gives the reader an insight into what someone can go through when life throws them a curveball. Briony explores with vivid and humorous detail the range of emotions she felt right from her diagnosis, whether it was concern over what came next, how and when to tell family and friends, or even what would happen to her hair.<\/p>\n\n\n

What Life is Tough<\/em> also offers is great advice that is really relatable, such as focusing on the positives and what really matters in life, and what really doesn’t. She also recommends taking a new stock of life and having a real appreciation for the little things that most people would take for granted when not having to face their mortality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really appreciated so many of the different topics that Briony explored throughout the book, in particular around what to say and what not to say as a support person to be super helpful (if you\u2019re socially awkward like me, you might too!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not like other self-help and personal development books that I have come across before \u2014 what Briony has created here is truly unique, heartfelt and personal. I am so grateful for this book and its very simple reminder: you only get one life and you need to make the most of it, look after yourself and surround yourself with good energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
