Hello lovelies from me, Amy Andrews, in Romancelandia where it’s August and the year has already been 27 months long. Things are tough at the moment and I\u2019m sending big hugs and good vibes from down the rabbit hole where we\u2019re fully vaxxed, staying at home and everything is Covid safe. We can\u2019t meet right now, we can\u2019t party and we can\u2019t just jump on a plane and go but we can armchair travel and there\u2019s nothing like a romance novel to sweep you away for a few hours. Living someone else\u2019s HEA is a fabulous distraction from reality and that\u2019s not nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an extra treat each month, I usually recommend one of my fave reads\/authors to you. This month I\u2019m choosing another Kiwi \u2013 Jackie Ashenden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackie writes all the romance \u2013 70+ y\u2019all \u2013 and I am an absolute sucker for her strong, honourable, alpha heroes! She\u2019s written for several Harlequin lines, Entangled Publishing, St Martin\u2019s Press and Sourcebooks, as well as having a large indie backlist. She\u2019s the kind of romance author that has you turning the pages desperate for resolution but never wanting it to end.
I\u2019m also lucky enough to know her personally and she\u2019s not only a truly, genuinely lovely human being but also one of the hardest working authors you\u2019ll ever meet. She is also a knitter extraordinaire \u2013 seriously, check out her Instagram<\/a><\/strong> page to see what I mean!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like all my faves, there are too many books of Jackie\u2019s to choose just one – so please do go and check out her backlist. For this column though, I\u2019ll recommend the first in her Alaska Homecoming series \u2013 Come Home To Deep River<\/a><\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
