He has won numerous awards, including the New South Wales Premier\u2019s Book of the Year Award in 2016 for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/dark-emu-bruce-pascoe\/book\/9781921248016.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=bruce_pascoe_recommends\">Dark Emu<\/a><\/strong> (Magabala Books 2014) and the Prime Minister\u2019s Literature Award for Young Adult fiction for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/fog-a-dox-bruce-pascoe\/book\/9781921248559.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=bruce_pascoe_recommends\">Fog a Dox<\/a><\/strong> (Magabala Books 2012) in 2013. His children\u2019s titles <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/mrs-whitlam-bruce-pascoe\/book\/9781925936346.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=bruce_pascoe_recommends\">Mrs Whitlam<\/a><\/strong> (Magabala Books 2016) and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/young-dark-emu-bruce-pascoe\/book\/9781925360844.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=bruce_pascoe_recommends\">Young Dark Emu<\/a><\/strong> (Magabala Books 2019) have been shortlisted in the Children\u2019s Book Council of Australia Awards. In 2018 Bruce was awarded the Australia Council Award for Lifetime Achievement in Literature. He has worked as a teacher, farmer, fisherman, barman, fencing contractor, lecturer, Aboriginal language researcher, archaeological site worker and editor. It was an honour to help create an opportunity for an Indigenous illustrator, and Charmaine\u2019s illustrations add their own dimension to the story. The more Indigenous voices in the industry the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story of <em>Found<\/em> is based in part on a true story, of a lost calf I found on my farm.
