Her death was confirmed by her granddaughter Kate Gibbs in a statement made to <em>delicious<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe family of Margaret Fulton are today mourning the loss of their loving, inspirational and treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Called the \u201coriginal domestic goddess\u201d by <em>Bulletin<\/em>, Margaret Fulton was born on 6 October, 1924, in Scotland and moved to Australia aged 3. She began her prosperous career in food as a cooking teacher in 1947, and would go on to write over 25 cookbooks, serve as the food editor for <em>Women\u2019s Day<\/em>, and host her own primetime TV cooking show.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/the-margaret-fulton-cookbook-margaret-fulton\/prod9781743794814.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=margaret_fulton_obituary\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-104768 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/b5923f9f-0a78-4733-898e-a89e00409fc8-221x300.jpg\" alt=\"The Margaret Fulton Cookbook\" width=\"180\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/b5923f9f-0a78-4733-898e-a89e00409fc8-221x300.jpg 221w, https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/b5923f9f-0a78-4733-898e-a89e00409fc8.jpg 478w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a>Margaret cemented her enthusiastic brand of quick and easy home cooking with the publication of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/the-margaret-fulton-cookbook-margaret-fulton\/prod9781743794814.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=margaret_fulton_obituary\"><em>The Margaret Fulton Cookbook<\/em><\/a> in 1968, with individual chapters on fish, poultry, meat, vegetables, soups, salads, pasta and rice, desserts and cakes. It went on to sell over 1.5 million copies and it remains something of a food bible for many Australians. Last year, it celebrated its 50th anniversary in print.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A love of travelling lead Margaret to discover the delights of Chinese and Italian food, and she is considered a pioneer for multi-cultural cooking who irrevocably changed Australia\u2019s culinary landscape.
