After working for a time as a fashion publicist and a journalist who wrote for publications like <em>Cosmopolitan<\/em>, Judith would go on to become one of the most beloved and bestselling romance authors of all time at the age of 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A novelist with a reputation for writing lavish &#8216;sex-and-shopping&#8217; fantasies, Krantz&#8217;s books failed to charm literary critics but they earned her a vast and loyal fanbase. (Deirdre Hamill\/AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Thousands petition Netflix to cancel Amazon Prime\u2019s <em>Good Omens<\/em> series<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>OK, so this news isn\u2019t strictly book related, but it\u2019s so goddamn funny that I simply have to include it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.returntoorder.org\/petition\/tell-netflix-to-cancel-blasphemous-good-omens\/?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=books_news_june27\">petition<\/a> that has amassed over 20,000 signatures was circulated by the US Foundation for a Christian Civilization last week, calling on Netflix to cancel their blasphemous adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett\u2019s apocalyptic comedy novel <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/good-omens-neil-gaiman\/prod9780552159845.html?utm_source=booktopian_blog&amp;utm_medium=booktopian&amp;utm_campaign=books_news_june27\">Good Omens<\/a><\/em>. They argued that the series, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, is \u201canother step to make Satanism appear normal, light and acceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only problem is\u2026 Netflix didn\u2019t make <em>Good Omens<\/em>, Amazon did!
