The Books
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
You may have seen this book everywhere – and for good reason! Lessons in Chemistry follows the story of Elizabeth Zott, a brilliant chemist who is forced to become a television chef when she finds herself a young, single mother. This book is even being adapted into an Apple+ TV show featuring Brie Larson, which we can’t wait to watch.
The Bookbinder of Jericho by Pip Williams
The follow-up to the wildly successful “Dictionary of Lost Words”, this novel is a boldly feminist novel that sings with the joy of life and the miracle of the printed word. This book is definitely worthy of the accolades and was worth the wait.
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet up once a week to investigate unsolved murders, which gets interesting when a brutal killing takes place on their doorstep. This series is a crowd favourite at Booktopia HQ.
Phosphorescence by Julia Baird
A beautiful, intimate and inspiring investigation into how we can find and nurture within ourselves that essential quality of internal happiness – the ‘light within’ that Julia Baird calls ‘phosphorescence’ – which will sustain us even through the darkest times. This is a beautiful novel that made us feel all the emotions!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The entrancing story of a reclusive Hollywood starlet as she reflects on her relentless rise to the top and the long-held secrets the public could never imagine, and of course, her seven husbands. Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of our beloved authors and we think this book is a great place to start.
The Coffee:
Original Arpeggio
Find your favourite from Australia’s widest variety of coffee capsules. Introducing Arpeggio, Australia’s favourite coffee capsule. Known for its strong roast & cocoa notes, Nespresso’s Arpeggio coffee blend is an exceptional way to start your day. Perfect for sipping while reading an intense, page-turning thriller.
Vertuo Double Espresso Chiaro
The Vertuo range of double espresso capsules is a favourite choice amongst Nespresso members. You might find a taking to it as well if you love a coffee that’s rich in flavour and texture and robust in character.
Chief among them is a short-roasted, intense blend that’s Nespresso’s signature double espresso capsules: Double Espresso Chiaro. This blend of South and Central American Arabica beans offers woody, earthy notes that come up beautifully against sweeter touches of caramel. Pairs beautifully with a quiet afternoon and a favourite book in hand.
Original & Vertuo Find Your Favourite Selection Assortments:
If you’re still needing inspiration to find a new favourite, Nespresso’s assortment packs are an ideal option, available in 60 or 120 capsule packs. Don’t like to stick to one genre of book? Why restrict yourself to just one flavour of coffee either?!

Reading a book while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee is the perfect pairing for morning, noon and night.
