I plead the fifth. It is impossible for me to choose my 5 favourites out of 170 recipes – he he! However, I CAN tell you the 5 recipes that got the most enthusiastic response from my team and independent recipe testers – and why they / I love them so much!

  1. Spicy Sichuan pork noodles – My team has been making this regularly for themselves ever since I created it! They love it because it pays huge returns for minimal effort. Made with my secret 3 ingredient spicy Asian sauce, it’s super quick to make, you can get everything from you local supermarket and is loaded with big, spicy, Asian flavours.
  1. One pot sausage meatball pasta – This is in such high rotation in the household of a team member that it has simply become known as The Pasta. It really is the perfect dinner – a big, juicy, cheesy pasta made in one pot. And everybody loves my “meatball” hack!
  1. Green Spaghetti – When this got the nod of approval from my food bank Chef’s 5 year old daughter, we knew we were onto a winner. She had no idea she’d eaten an enormous mound of spinach hidden in the form of pesto. As for grown ups? They love it because it’s downright delicious – and easier (and cheaper) to make than basil pesto!
  1. Moroccan Harira soup with lamb – “I didn’t know what to expect and was quite dubious. But OMG! This is my favourite recipe in the chapter!” Response from my independent recipe tester says it all.
  1. Lemon Cheesecake – One perk of working at a book publisher is that you get to preview recipes before a cookbook is released. And there’s no doubt that this has been high on the list of most-made recipes by the team at Pan Macmillan!! The lemon flavour in this is stunning. The perfect balance of creamy and luscious but not sickeningly rich. And that lemon curd layer is something else!
