Here for the Right Reasons
by Jodi McAlister

When Cece James agrees to be cast as a ‘Juliet’ on the next season of the hit television show Marry Me, Juliet, it’s certainly not for the right reasons. She’s knee-deep in debt and desperate for the associated paycheck. The last thing on her mind is the hunky ‘Romeo’ waiting for her at the end of the gravel driveway.
But Dylan Jayasinghe Mellor isn’t your usual fame-hungry TV star. An Olympic gold medallist with calloused hands, kind eyes, and a propensity for panic attacks, it turns out he’s not here for the right reasons either. As a spokesperson for a men’s mental health foundation and the franchise’s first non-white male lead, Dylan’s got a charity to plug and something to prove.
When Cece gets eliminated on the first night, it seems like she and Dylan’s awkward first meeting will be their last conversation. But when the TV set is shut down unexpectedly, Cece and Dylan suddenly get a little more time together than they’d expected.

After Hours on Milagro Street

Professor Jeremiah Post, the poor handsome man, is in fact standing in the way of Alejandra “Alex” Torres turning Loretta’s, her grandmother’s bar, into a viable business. The hot brainiac who sleeps in one of the upstairs tenant rooms already has all of her Mexican American family’s admiration; she won’t let him have the bar and building she needs to resurrect her career, too.

Amy’s Favourite of the Month
As an extra treat each month, I recommend one of my fave authors/reads to you, and this month I give you Janet Evanovich. I’m sure this is a name known far and wide from her mega-successful Stephanie Plum series which is still going strong at book 28. And while this multi NYT bestselling author is known and lauded by the world at large for her action adventures packed with thrills and spills, love and laughter, she is also much adored for her earlier Loveswept category romances where many of us first discovered her pacey, humorous, sexy books.
Her backlist is plentiful which always makes it hard to recommend just one but I don’t think you can really go past her first Stephanie Plum novel, One For The Money. Later made into a film starring and produced by Kathryn Heigl, the book introduces us to a thoroughly modern literary heroine who starts at rock bottom and determinedly, if a little clumsily, re-invents herself.
In Stephanie she also gave romance readers one of the cannon’s best known, much-debated love triangles. Members of Romancelandia are either strictly Team Ranger or Team Joe. Although, I do feel that if possibility number three – a really hot thruple – was thrown into the mix, that would probably be a fairly popular option, also!
