
The Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award winner for 2022 has just been revealed as Melbourne writer Nell Pierce, who won for her manuscript A Place Near Eden!
2022 marks the 42nd year of the prize, which has heralded the careers of some of Australia’s most beloved writers, including Tim Winton and Kate Grenville. It offers $20,000 in prize money to a writer under the age of thirty-five for an unpublished manuscript, along with publication by Allen & Unwin with an advance against royalties
Pierce’s win was announced at a short award ceremony hosted by author Emily Bitto (The Strays, Wild Abandon) and livestreamed digitally.
