Moriarty’s US publisher, Henry Holt, has said that Apples Never Fall will ‘take readers behind the closed doors of seemingly tranquil suburbia as Moriarty expertly peels away the layers of a family to reveal heartfelt truths, deeply felt wounds, and moments of humanity with her signature wit and expert observational powers.’

This new book has some big shoes to fill, with Liane’s previous titles like Truly, Madly, Guilty, Nine Perfect Strangers, and Big Little Lies securing her global bestseller status. 15 million copies of Moriarty’s books have been sold worldwide, and several of them have been adapted or are in the process of being adapted for the small screen. Nine Perfect Strangers is set to become a Hulu limited series later this year, starring Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, and Michael Shannon. Given the success of HBO’s Emmy-winning adaptation of Big Little Lies, it will come as no surprise to anyone if movie or TV rights are snapped up for this one. (Someone call Reese Witherspoon, ASAP.)
Apples Never Fall will hit shelves in plenty of time for Christmas on the 14th of September, but it’s available to pre-order right now.
