About that new Little Women film …

After months of anxious waiting by hundreds of thousands of readers across the globe, Little Women has finally been released in Australia.

Directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Emma Watson and Eliza Scanlan, the latest film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel opened to rave reviews from both critics and viewers.

Like Meg March before her big social debut, I honestly can’t remember the last time I was this excited about a movie. Happily, I wasn’t the only one at Booktopia – my fellow Little Women fans Shanu Prasad and Sarah McDuling were similarly keen. We’ve now all had a chance to see Little Women and so, in true Booktopia fashion, we decided to podcast about it.

In our chat we talk all about the film – why we love the book so much, the casting of the March sisters, the performances, the costume design, THAT contentious ending, and why Amy March is the most underrated March sister.
