The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye to be published in September

The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye, the fifth book in the second continuation of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series by the Swedish author David Lagercrantz, will be released on 7 September, 2017.

David Lagercrantz is an acclaimed author and journalist. In 2015 The Girl in the Spider’s Web, his continuation of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy, became a worldwide bestseller, and it was announced that Lagercrantz would write two further novels in the series. He is also the author of the prize-winning and bestselling I am Zlatan Ibramhimovic, and Fall of Man in Wilmslow, a novel about the death of Alan Turing.

The film of David Lagercrantz’ The Girl in the Spider’s Web is due for release on October 5, 2018. It will feature an entirely new cast, with the search for the new Lisbeth Salander currently underway. Explore the Millennium novels here.

Garth Nix’s Frogkisser! to be adapted into an animation

Michael McCullers, the screenwriter for The Boss Baby is adapting Garth Nix’s fantasy adventure Frogkisser! into an animation for Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios.

McCullers previously wrote and directed the Amy Poehler-Tina Fey comedy Baby Mama and wrote the screenplays for two Austin Powers films. His upcoming projects include scripts for Hotel Transylvania 3 and Shrek 5.

Liane Moriarty, Jimmy Barnes, Candice Fox, and Tracey Spicer to attend the 2017 Sydney Writers’ Festival.

The 20th Sydney Writers’ Festival, under new Artistic Director Michaela McGuire will run from May 22 – May 28.

Tied together by the theme of REFUGE, it will offer 400 events with over 450 writers attending locations across greater Sydney. Free events make up approximately 40%  of the program.

Horrible Harriet currently playing at the Sydney Opera House.

Tim Minchin to release children’s book in October.

Australian musician, actor, writer and comedian, Tim Minchin, will be publishing a children’s book based on his lyrics from When I Grow Up, one of the songs in his musical, Matilda.

Based on the beloved novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl, Matilda is the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life.

Minchin’s celebrated smash hit is presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company, one of the most acclaimed theater companies in the world, and the Dodgers, Tony Award®-winning producers of hits like Jersey Boys.

Will.i.am to publish a Young Adult novel.

Mere weeks after we discover that The Black Eyed Peas are publishing a graphic novel, Will.i.am has revealed he’ll also be releasing a book – a young adult book called Wizards and Robots.

Originally intended as a graphic novel, the book morphed into a traditional book over time.

Will.i.am teamed up with with science fiction author Brian David Johnson to write the book. Expect it in January 2018.
