Picking up right where he left off, Paul Carter pulls out more tall tales of a mad, bad and dangerous life in the international oil trade. Starting with action and mayhem galore This Is Not A Drill sets an unrelenting pace that just doesn't let up, as Paul almost drowns when the Russian rig he's working on begins to capsize; is reunited with his Dad - another adrenaline junkie; gets married; hangs out with his rig pig buddies in exotic locations; and spends a couple of interesting weeks in Afghanistan ...

This is the next fast, furious and very funny book from Paul Carter, the author of the bestselling Don't Tell Mum I Work on the Rigs, She Thinks I'm a Piano Player in a Whorehouse.

About the Author

Paul Carter was born in England in 1969. His father's military career had the family moving all over the world, re-locating every few years. Paul has been working in the oil exploration industry since he was eighteen years old. In that time he has accumulated a wealth of hilarious and often terrifying stories.

At 36 he wrote his first book, a best seller in Australia and with its release in the United States and Europe in mid 2006 he has established himself in a new writing career as well as continuing to work on drilling rigs.

Industry Reviews

"If you're looking for a rip-roaring, rollicking roster of drunken antics, tropical diseases and bad behaviour, you won't go far wrong." -- Amazon
"Get ready for loosely connected, bawdy stories about the author and his outrageous friends. Some tales come from the oil rigs Carter worked on, but most take place in bars, where misogynistic alpha males drown themselves in a sea of liquor. How about the one where a bloke with a glass eye pops it into someone's beer, and the crowd waits until the victim quaffs the last ounce to see it staring at him from the bottom of his glass? Carter narrates the audiobook in his working-class Australian accent, loaded with the national vocabulary of 'mates', 'queuing', 'boiled sweets', and 'rubbing one out' (think gas). His rapid narrative style leaves the listener little time to ponder the novel metaphors, similes, and analogies." -- AudioFile Magazine
