AMORE and AMARETTI - Victoria Cosford it is rare that I read a book that transports me utterly into the world that is being portrayed by the writer. Victoria Cosford is so 'ordinary' yet so delightful during this period of her life (I suspect she is now fiesty and self contained) but then she was full of fears and insecurities but so talented and natural that it is hard not to fall 'a little in love' with her. Hard also not to fall 'a little in love' with Gianfranco and Ignazio and the other men in her almost dreamlike existence in one of the most beautiful parts of the world - Tuscany- which came alive for me again within these pages. Tuscany that would capture the heart of even the most weary traveller and the place in the world where food became, for me, an experience! Victoria's recipes can be tasted as you read. I loved this book and it will be one of the rare books that I will read again and will have to buy to give to someone else, because I can't risk giving this one away!
