Gu, a.k.a. The Great Chiweenie, tells of the outrageous adventures with Megan, Cub and the pack of teenagers they adopt for the summer. Journeying in the safety of Cub or Megan's backpack, the tag-a-long, Gu, has a unique look at the journey across America. Traveling cross-country with seven teenagers is tough enough, but with the pressure to arrive on the opposite shore on time, Gu and his crew come up against the pitfalls that occur while traveling by bicycle. Pushing the limits for two months to make their deadline, the pack has bicycle problems, injuries, and suffers the strains of living with each other. In addition to the pack's problems, Gu encounters his own unusual problems that could put the pack at risk of not getting to their final destination, the Atlantic Ocean.
