About the Author
Jennifer Poore (M.Ed, M(T.E.S.O.L.)) taught Legal Studies for over 40 years in both the public and private sector. Jennifer has extensive experience as an examination assessor, principally as a Legal Studies marker, for over 30 years. She has been a consultant and professional officer at the Victorian Commercial Teachers’ Association (VCTA).
Jennifer has presented professional learning activities for teachers of Legal Studies and contributed articles to the Compak journal. Jennifer was the lead author of the Unit 3 & 4 text, ‘Making & Breaking the Law’ (2nd ed) and author of the A+ Legal Studies Notes (3rd ed). She has been a contributor to other texts. Since the late 1990s, and until Covid-19 hit, Jennifer took an annual tour to spend time with the Arabunna People, custodians of the Kati Thunda (Lake Eyre) and their Elder, Reg Dodd. This was part of a cultural immersion and understanding program. She was in charge of a Reconciliation program at Trinity Grammar School, Kew for ten years and organised professional learning activities for educators and the general community on Indigenous culture. She has written scripts for educational films.
