Being Here won the QLD Premier's Young Adult Book Award 2011 and was shortlisted for the Prime Minister's Award 2012. About the Illustrator
Tom Jellett is an Australian illustrator based in Sydney. Tom has been an editorial illustrator for NewsLimited, working on The Australian, The Weekend Australian and The Daily Telegraph. His work has appeared in the South China Morning Post, The Week and Medical Observer.
He is also an acclaimed children's book illustrator. His work includes a series of books about a little pirate for Penguin Books and a couple of books about a teddy bear called Ted (Ted Goes Wild, Ted Gets Lost and Ted Hits Town). His picture book with Justine Clarke and Arthur Baysting, The Gobbledygook is Eating a Book, has been an Australian bestseller. His most recent picture book is Why I Love Footy, written by Michael Wagner.
In 2011, he was included in the editorial category for Illustrators 53, exhibited at the Society of Illustrators, New York.
