The first book in New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas's sweeping fantasy saga - now available in hardcover with a new look to match the series!

When magic has gone from the world, and a vicious king rules from his throne of glass, an assassin comes to the castle. She does not come to kill, but to win her freedom. If she can defeat twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition to find the greatest assassin in the land, she will become the king's champion and be released from prison.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. And a princess from a foreign land will become the one thing she never thought she'd have again: a friend. But something evil dwells in the castle-and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying, horribly, one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the source of the evil before it destroys her world.

    Comments about Throne of Glass:

I first grabbed this novel, because my friend recommended it too me, saying that she had hear it was a well enjoyed series. I picked it up, not expecting much, but by the time I had finished the novel I was running straight back to Booktopia, and ordering the rest of the series! I have never read a book with such a strong female character, and the story just swept me off my feet. As I read the rest of the series, the story just got better and better, and now that I have finished the entire series, I cant physically not wait for the last installment, it's driving me insane! This book is great for anyone who likes fantasy, strong female leads, in depth history, or anyone who just wants a good read.

          Comments about Throne of Glass:

This is one of the best YA fantasy fiction books I've read in ages. The female protagonist in this story is strong-willed, tough and kicks butt! The story is easy to follow, hooks you in from the get go and has a great pace. It has short chapters so it doesn't drag on (great for readers who get disinterested quickly).

          Comments about Throne of Glass:

First off the book is visually stunning - the cover art is so gorgeous! I adored Celaena. She was arrogant, vain, snarky, sulky ... and I loved it! I do wish we got to hear more about her back story, but I know that it will all come to light eventually. I didn't find the actual plot of this novel entirely new - at times it felt predictable and a bit tame, but overall it was an enjoyable read. This book was more introductory than I thought it would be, but I still enjoyed it regardless. It spent most of the time setting the stage for what I imagine will be an intense and action-packed book 2. I recommend this book/series.

Having waited for a long time to see on Sarah's blog that this would be published, I almost started crying when I found out it would be--the only reason I didn't was that I had gone quite numb from excitement. A fan on Goodreads It's not simply good, it's gorgeous and epic, and beautiful, and everything a book should be. Can't wait to get my hands on polished version. A fan on Goodreads Epic, witty, and brilliantly plotted... I am one of the thousands of people who read this book on Fictionpress several years ago and fell in love with it, and I am counting down the days until it gets published. A fan on Goodreads Magic fuses every word of this book together, and I found myself loving all the characters as I got to know them. This is a beautiful read A fan on Goodreads
