Wanda-Linda and her pet hairy-nosed wombat Glenda have to face that tricky situation of finding that all your pairs of underpants have just been washed and are hanging out to dry. With no other alternative, Wanda-Linda is forced to wear the truly awful Terrible Underpants. With their bung elastic, holes, stains and very, very baggy bits these are seriously unattractive nether garments. Wanda-Linda tries to keep her underpants to herself but as she goes to the shop a gust of wind blows up her dress, revealing the terrible underpants to Mrs Kafoops. At school all the other children see her pants when she plays on the monkey bars; and when she does a headstand someone in a helicopter takes a picture and a photograph of the terrible underpants is shown around the world! What can be the solution to the problem? Wanda-Linda can think of only one: to take them off, of course! This is an entertaining and amusing story with colourful and lively cartoon-style illustrations from Australian author, illustrator and film-maker Kaz Cooke. Children will love the quirky humour and sympathize with Wanda-Linda's embarrassing dilemma. Ages 3-6 (Kirkus UK)
