The gripping new thriller from the author of THE SUSPECT.

Alisha Barba's dreams of being a detective were shattered when a murder suspect broke her back across a brick wall. Now on her feet again, with her police career in limbo, she receives a message from an old school friend, Cate Beaumont, who is eight months pregnant and in trouble.

On the night they arrange to meet, Cate is mown down by a car that kills her husband instantly. As paramedics fight to save her life they discover there is no baby. Her pregnancy is an elaborate lie, a cruel deception.

Why? What happened? As Alisha sets out to answer these questions she is drawn deeper and deeper into a dangerous quest that will take her from the East End of London to Amsterdam's red light district and into a murky underworld of sex trafficking, slavery and exploitation.

A gripping thriller, with twists at every turn, The Night Ferry is Michael Robotham's finest novel yet.

    Comments about The Night Ferry:

Michael Robotham is just a great Australian Crime writer. His books are best read in order, and my personal view is that he gets better with each novel. This book is, as usual, exceptionally well written. My only criticism is that the topic has now been done over by a number of authors, so, you have likely read something like this before. But because the author makes such eloquent use of the English language, this is a must read. I would give it 3.5 starts but the system did not allow a half star rating.

      Comments about The Night Ferry:

Another great read from Robotham. As an author of crime fiction Michael is a master at introducing varied scenarios and characters around each mystery keeping each read fresh from the last. He gives us familiar characters with flaws and character who are easy to connect with and therefore keeps you interested in following their journeys. He also introduces new characters with vastly different lives and situations to keep every book different. The topics and events that he covers / creates are all interesting and I can only imagine the amount of research that goes into each book.

I highly recommend Michael Robotham to all fans of crime fiction particularly Lehane and Connelly.
