'Lou Schuler has finally written a training book for me, and for all women. His expert advice, no-nonsense plans, and sense of humor are reassuring, motivating, and entertaining. I'm starting the program tomorrow!'
- SUSAN KLEINER, PH.D., AUTHOR OF POWER EATING AND THE GOOD MOOD DIET

'The workouts in this book are unique, challenging, and extremely effective. Be prepared to get into the best shape of your life!'
- VALERIE WATERS, CELEBRITY TRAINER

In The New Rules of Lifting for Women, Lou Schuler, Cassandra Forsythe, and Alwyn Cosgrove present a comprehensive strength, conditioning, and nutrition plan destined to revolutionize the way women work out. All the latest studies prove that strength training, not aerobics, provides the key to losing fat and building a fit, strong body.

Here's what you get in the book:

  • Six months' worth of progressively challenging workouts that strip fat while increasing your strength and building lean, head-turning muscle-all in two to three hours a week.
  • An easy-to-use nutrition program that shows you how much to eat to reach your goals. This isn't a one-size-fits-all diet, it's a plan that changes to fit your size.

Comments about The New Rules of Lifting for Women:

I found this to be an surprisingly interesting book, with some new ways of looking at what exercise is and what is actually does for the human body. This book is written by an American man, so its set out in pounds, ounces, miles per hour and calories with a few "American" twangs thrown in. The Author does a good job in explaining the new rules, sighting scientific studies done on humans and the results, providing some good information. However he does have a tendency to talk straight, theres no perky or warm and fuzzy, if anything he has somewhat of a stinging sense of humour throughout the book, being sarcastic, funny, helpful and in your face all at once!!
This book will tell you things fitness magazines dont or wont, which is a big help for those of us who work out, eat well and want to be like the women in the glossy mags, but dont...theres reasons why we cant look like that, its called genetics. The author explains this and more which made me more confident and happy with my own training and results.
All the best to you and your pursuit of fitness!!
