THE RUNAWAY SUNDAY TIMES NO.1 BESTSELLER AND THRILLER OF THE YEAR

Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. ‘Jess and Jason', she calls them. Their life – as she sees it – is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy.

And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough.

Now everything's changed. Now Rachel has a chance to become a part of the lives she's only watched from afar.

Now they'll see; she's much more than just the girl on the train…

Im always hunting for a good entertaining book which absorbs you in its characters and plot line. I purchased this on an online whim and off recommendations like this one.

This is an easy read. Not terribly in depth or hard to keep up with, however this simplicity of the read was married with an interesting change up of character monologue each chapter.

The protagonist whilst somewhat depressing was equally engaging and you cant help but like her despite being frustrated at times with her character. I was aching to feel more for her as her human nature and flaws should have brought more compassionate tears and less frustration but perhaps I'm too jaded by my own real life.
If you're considering this book i urge you to try it out and stick through it... its worth a read.

Just because it's a best seller doesn't make it a great read. It was poorly written. Every Character was unbalanced and completely self absorbed except the flat mate and she was a walking door mat. The plot was unbelievably boring. I skipped several chapters in the middle and STILL got the murderer. See the movie...it wastes less time.

Comments about The Girl on the Train:

At first I thought the hype about this book was a bit overstated, but kept turning to the next page, good start, then as the story was unfolding I was hooked couldn't wait to get to the next page and then when I had reached the unexpected end was sorry it had finished. Great read, would recommend to everyone.

Comments about The Girl on the Train:

I can't quite work out why this is a best seller. I was looking forward to getting a great page turner but I was left disappointed. I don't think it was well written, didn't make me want to stay up reading it and left me with a sense of "why did I waste my time with it"....So overall I would not recommend it.

Loved reading this book. I loved Gone Girl and this book was equally as good in my opinion. Great characters that you gradually learnt more about as the story went on.
