I bought both books in this series and I have enjoyed them quite thoroughly. They are, in my opinion, not her best work. I would try out 'The Tide Lord Series' or 'The Hythrun Chronicles'. Those books are awesome and some are on Booktopias bargains.

THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS THERE IS ALOT OF FOREIGN WORDS THAT CAN SOMETIMES BE CONFUSING, BUT STILL A WORTHWHILE READ
