You may be about to enter the property market. You may have been a successful participant in the past, or you may feel that you could have made wiser property-related decisions that would have improved your current wealth or lifestyle.

Perhaps you are seeking information about when you should or will be able to afford to own more than one property. Alternatively, you may want to organise a retirement income, or an income to supplement your current earnings that will allow you to work less or retire early. You may even need to sell a property or to exit this asset class completely.

If any of these circumstances apply to you, or will do so in the future, this book is for you.

About the Authors

Ron Bennetts was born in Yarloop, Western Australia. Following his education at Narembeen and Three Springs Primary Schools, Carnamah District High School and Christ Church Grammar, Ron completed a Bachelor of Economics and Diploma of Education at the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He worked as a teacher and consultant for the Ministry of Education ( WA) before being appointed Manager, Information Services for the Australian Stock Exchange (Perth) Ltd. Gavin Hegney was born in 1961. His life is ignited by two passions : One is surfing and the other is property. His first involvement in property was in 1979 when he commenced his working life as a cadet valuer with the State Government of Western Australia. From there he moved to private practice before establishing his current business Hegney Property Valuations in 1990. Today the firm values over 50,000 properties annually and Gavin offers his expert insights into the property market via television, radio and newspapers. The views he expresses in this book are a combination of theory and practical experience, which he hopes will allow the reader to gain greater understanding of the real estate market.
