Book Description

Times are hard in the village of Lissamore on Ireland's West Coast. So it's lucky that free-spirited Cat Gallagher knows a thing or two about breaking and entering. When her beloved houseboat burns down she finds herself eyeing up the abandoned Villa which seems to suit her purposes admirably. But when a mystery buyer turns up, Cat is in a quandary.

She needs money, a roof over her head and for the first time in her life Cat needs a helping hand...Rio Kinsella is also in a predicament. She is in possession of a secret that has the potential to transform not only her own life, but the lives of those dearest to her. Before long, Rio finds herself lost in a labyrinth of lies, deceit and good intentions gone wrong. Can the two women find a way through their problems?

That Gallagher Girl takes us back to the wonderful world of Lissamore with another heart-warming tale filled with a wonderful cast of characters. Full of tears and laughter it is the perfect read for fans of Cathy Kelly and Maeve Binchy.

      Comments about That Gallagher Girl:

I found it hard to relate to, or even like the characters in this book,it was also difficult to understand the choices they made - things just 'happened' which did not equate to who you thought the character was. The main character was annoyingly selfish and childish. I was able to predict the next scene on most occasions.

        Comments about That Gallagher Girl:

This was a classic "chick lit" with a slight twist, which is enjoyable for a change. The tone is not overly emotional and romantic, with less of the "happily ever after" mist that most of these books have. Some parts are unrealistic, but it doesn't take the shine off the story or the enjoyment of the read. This is a good book to relax with on a lazy afternoon.

Received as a free book, so happy to get a novel that is out of my usual genre, but when you reach only the second page and the main character says "Yikes", that's where the novel ended for me.
Not believable dialogue unless you are Enid Blyton and it is 1950.
Sorry but couldn't read any further.
