Love touches us all. During times of conflict it has played, and continues to play, an important role in the lives of our servicemen and women, the sweethearts and lovers they left behind or those they met while serving. Stories of Love & War offers a window into love during wars by exploring the beautiful, humorous, touching and evocative objects found amongst the treasures of the Australian War Memorial's collections. The personal stories of generations of Australians in all their private triumphs or despair, are revealed through the material they have left behind. Every object, letter, photograph and work of art in the Memorial's collection tells a story and here you will find many of these moving stories of love and war.
