Product Description

A fully revised and updated edition of the bestselling baby sleep guide.

Tizzie Hall has developed a series of sleep routines that have provided parents and babies with a good night's sleep the world over. Save Our Sleep provides specific routines for sleeping and feeding for all stages from newborns to two years, as well as addressing issues that can affect a baby's sleep pattern such as colic, reflux through to accommodating daylight saving, travelling and moving house. New material includes new routines, integrated feedback on routines, dummy use, express feeding, dealing with premature babies and twins, more information on teaching your baby to self-settle and brand new case studies.

About the Author

Born and raised in Ireland, Tizzie Hall has worked with children and parents for many years, helping with customised sleep solutions for their babies. Tizzie started her Save Our Sleep (SOS) business in the UK in 1996 after tertiary psychology studies and a career in private childcare. This book was recommended to us by a number of people who found it the key to getting sleep. I used this book when I'd had two horrendous nights and just had to do something. It's given us a routine and an understanding of when our baby needs sleep. It's given us structure as well as our baby.

* Not responding when your baby vomits?
* Wrapping in HOW many blankets? (overheating/death risk)
* Not focusing on your baby's needs but your own for the sake of a routine?

Its no wonder kids today are so disconnected, anxious and stressed to the max, wanting to escape into computer games and screens.

It works? For some maybe but at what cost that you'll find out down the track?

Love your little ones, they are wired for their own survival, not to annoy you. If they are upset its for a reason, not manipulation, and if you need breastfeeding advice for your baby, seek a qualified lactation consultant (ideally an IBCLC) not a book author who has no idea how damaging untrained advice can be.

    Comments about Save Our Sleep:

As first time parents, we were recommended this book. However, having both studied developmental psychology and worked extensively with children in our jobs as teachers, we did not agree with the recommendations in this book. Much of it seems to be based on outdated or ad hoc research, such as along dairy farmers for advice on breast feeding babies! Throughout, the author gives her personal opinions, but couches them as recommendations, despite having very little formal authority to do so. Instead of buying this book, use the patent support services, such as community clinics, midwives, breastfeeding association and tressilian, who will give you better advice, based on proper research, that won't harm your baby, often for free

      Comments about Save Our Sleep:

If you think this book will help you ask yourself the following question. Am I prepared to have 15 minute alarm s going off to make a military regime of family life? 7:15 express, 7:30 express of other breast...
It took about 1 chapter of self created anecdotes for me to see that this book is all hype and little content.
It is now a handy paperweight and reminder that I should never expect a book to contain the wisdom that parenting tries to be marketed as.

I found the information in the book very useful. On the first night I implemented the techniques, we had results! My 4 month old went from waking 2-3 times a night to sleeping from 7pm til 5:30am. I couldn't have been happier!
