Matthew’s dream was not uncommon. The plan was to get out of Sydney and settle down in the small country town of Temora NSW. His dream was to eventually buy a little farm, start his career as a high school teacher in a small town, and have a family. A simple plan you would think.
Matthew lasted in Temora for just 6 months.
Patricia’s memoir reveals the untold stories from Temora. Using a collection of family and friends' recollections, as well as witness statements and official reports, we learn the power of four young girls and a closed minded community, a common attitude of guilty until proven innocent, the blinded eyes of those who are supposed to help and how a young man’s life can be ruined in a split second.

Resurrection is the story of Patricia, and her journey toward forgiveness following the devastating suicide of her younger brother Matthew, then just 28 years old.
A sad but extremely important read, this book uses Matthew's tragic passing to shine light on some of the most prevalent yet misunderstood issues in Australia, namely male mental heath and rural isolation.
Half memoir and half personal investigation, the research and statistics within the book create not just a narrative, but a resource guide.
A must read for those coming to terms with a suicide that has touched them, or anyone else interested in learning more about the male psyche.
