Let's face it, very few of us will ever attempt Gilmore's fine dining recipes. We ooh-ed and aah-ed over them in Master Chef, and his famous Snow Egg nearly brought the finalists to their knees, but as far as inspiration, presentation and sheer food porn goes, you can't beat Quay . With such meticulous attention to detail, the photography alone took more than a year to get right. In his concession to us mere mortals, Gilmore has broken his recipes into components so you don't actually have to attempt the whole thing. Regardless, the book Quay is as sublime as its eponymous three-hatted restaurant. To experience it is to remember it, and I mean that in the most positive of ways.
