Pete Evans has had a life long love affair with pizza. His mother would make them from scratch for him and his friends - dialling a delivery service was never an option – and he later trained with an Italian pizzaiolo so he could learn all the tricks of the pizza-maker’s trade. The pizza restaurant Pete founded in Sydney has won many prestigious awards. The more than 90 recipes in this book cover classic pizzas and more modern versions, and include breakfast pizzas, seafood pizzas, vegetarian pizzas and pizza desserts.

About the Author

Pete Evans has built a reputation as a chef, restaurateur, television presenter and (his personal favourite) fisherman. Pete’s award-winning restaurants include Hugo’s Manly, Hugo’s Bar Pizza and Hugo’s Lounge in Sydney and the Pantry in Brighton, Victoria. His television work has included Channel Nine’s daily food show Fresh, the series Fish, sixty episodes of Home for the LifeStyle Channel and a documentary, Cooking for our Princess Mary.. Pete has released a range of condiments and sauces available through David Jones nationally, and is set to release a range of cooking utensils in late 2011.

        Comments about Pizza:

A must have for all the home wood-fired pizza owners, and for those not lucky enough to have one these recipes work just as well in the good old oven! Great recipes sure to impress your friends when you fire-up the oven and entertain. I am not a huge pizza fan, 2 slices is usually my limit, but these recipes have me eating pizza until I can't move anymore.

          Pete Evans

Born in Melbourne, raised on the Gold Coast and currently resides in Sydney – certified true blue Aussie.

Passions include fresh food, surfing, fishing – and cooking and living with a fantastically feel-good healthy focus.

Restaurants have been a part of Pete’s life since the age of 19. He has opened seven in his time as a chef and restaurateur, including The Pantry, Hugo’s Manly and, his latest success, a contemporary tapas bar in Melbourne’s CBD, the unique Bar Nacional.

High-profile catering is another proud passion – from a royal banquet for the Prince and Princess of Denmark to a private dinner for Martha Stewart or a gala G’Day USA dinner for 600 in New York City, Pete loves making any event super special.

Cooking, food and lifestyle TV programs have been another of Pete’s highly successful pursuits. Starting out in 2001 as a co-presenter on the Lifestyle Channel’s Home show, his credits also include Postcards from Home, FISH, and co-host with Manu Feildel since 2009 of Channel 7’s hugely and internationally successful My Kitchen Rules. Pete’s latest TV series, Moveable Feast, showcases America’s finest artisans, producers and chefs and is currently screening in the US.

Cookbooks? Of course! Pete has published
seven of them, all internationally successful, and there’s an eighth on the way.

Speaking about healthy eating and wellness is another passion of Pete’s. One of Australia’s leading authorities on healthy cooking and lifestyle, he loves to share his knowledge and educate and motivate parents, children and corporate audiences. And they love him!

Supporting organisations in synch with his own values is another of Pete’s passions. He is involved with Regenesis Youth (a new organisation dedicated to empowering disengaged teenagers) and the Mindd Foundation (using integrative healthcare, including food as medicine, in the treatment of metabolic, immunologic, neurologic, digestive and developmental conditions that often affect the mind). Pete is also an ambassador of the Australian Organic Schools garden project.
