Good Goal, Son 'Those were the last words my father ever said to me. They have had more impact on my life than all the words that I've heard other people say, or I've read in books, or I've heard in songs. Those three words have powered my passion to succeed, no matter what.' CM Murphy

CM Murphy's blissful rural childhood of surfing, billy carting and ice-hockey came to an abrupt halt after the untimely death of his father, theatrical agent Mark Murphy, when Chris was just 14. Murphy's mother took over the family agency in Sydney, where Chris worked from the age of 17 until he went out on his own to become one of the world's top music managers. Murphy is best known as being the manager of INXS from 1980 to 95, but also established the rooArt and Petrol record labels, was owner of one of Australia's top radio stations, was a pioneer of digital radio and publishing as well as an innovator in the organic food industry. From high school dropout, to global media entrepreneur, this is the story of a driven, self-made man who sets his sights on a goal, scores, then asks himself 'What's next?'.

'It was fascinating finding out how CM Murphy was made.'- Zach Horowitz, CEO Universal Music publishing

'Chris Murphy is sort of like our evil alter ego.' - Michael Hutchence, INXS

You don't have to be a huge fan of inns to enjoy this book. This book is more on his life which was quite amazing. I bought purely on seeing him interviewed on the t.v. Great holiday read, was disappointed to finish it. Highly recommend it!

Great read. Was never an INXS fan and hadn't heard any of their music. While I read the book though I listened to their albums as I progress through reading it. Quite an enjoyable experience.

CM Murphy is a legend, this story is gripping and emotionally charged. It's been a long time coming, thank you for finally deciding to write the book! Forthright and factual, INXS were well served by this guy.
