The brand-new stand-alone thriller from number one bestselling author, Harlan Coben.

It's a profile, like all the others on the online dating site. But as NYPD Detective Kat Donovan focuses on the accompanying picture, she feels her whole world explode, as emotions she s ignored for decades come crashing down on her. Staring back at her is her ex-fiance Jeff, the man who shattered her heart 18 years ago, never to be seen or heard from again.

Kat feels a spark, wondering if this might be the moment when past tragedies recede and a new world opens up to her. But when she reaches out to the man in the profile, her reawakened hope quickly darkens into suspicion and then terror as an unspeakable conspiracy comes to light, in which monsters prey upon the most vulnerable.

As the body count mounts and Kat's hope for a second chance with Jeff grows more and more elusive, she is consumed by an investigation that challenges her feelings about everyone she ever loved - her former fiance, her mother, and even her father, whose cruel murder so long ago has never been fully explained. With lives on the line, including her own, Kat must venture deeper into the darkness than she ever has before, and discover if she has the strength to survive what she finds there.

    Comments about Missing You:

Like Robert Goddard Coben has a way of drawing you into a story that initially seems less than interesting. This book is well written and engaging. The characters are believable and the message about internet dating is apt.

Coben's accomplished plotting shows why he tops the bestseller lists, and his supporting characters are as memorable as ever. SUNDAY TIMES "Coben draws the disparate plot strands together with masterly authority." FINANCIAL TIMES The absolute master of tense and punchy has pulled off another tightly-plotted treat for crime fans... Superb stuff. SUNDAY MIRROR "A truly nerve-shredding thriller." MORNING STAR Genius American crime writer Coben has a knack of writing mysteries that are emotionally engaging as well as taut and suspenseful, and this is perhaps his most deeply felt effort yet, with a witty, smart woman at its centre. HEAT "King of twisty thrillers Harlan Coben returns with another good 'un... Packed with atmosphere and shock twists, this is worth turning off your phone for!" CLOSER This book held me spellbound. It is superbly paced, it has believable, credible characters, it is, in short, a brilliant story, told by a writer who is at the very top of his game. And now I have to go and try to catch up on all the damn work I failed to get on with because of this book! If you see this book, buy it and read it. -- Michael Jecks SHOTS "[A] gripping thriller." PETERBOROUGH EVENING TELEGRAPH This fast-moving novel grabs attention from the opening page and does not let go until the final surprise. Gripping, suspenseful and occasionally poignant, this is a great read. SYDNEY MORNING HERALD "The sheer brio of Coben's narrative plate-spinning gives it all an entertaining chutzpah." IRISH TIMES "A master of the multiple twist. Just as it seems an explanation is within reach, the reader is hammered with another, even more shocking surprise." -- Marcel Berlins TIMES Coben orchestrates his story perfectly as Kat begins to sense the magnitude of the horror at work ... Once again, he has brilliantly used a current trend, in this case internet dating, to create a can't-put-it-down thriller PUBLISHERS WEEKLY The best-selling master of suspense has written another twisty ripped-from-the-headlines page-turning stand-alone that could be his best yet LIBRARY JOURNAL

    Harlan Coben

International bestselling author Harlan Coben's last seven novels, The Woods, Promise Me, The Innocent, Just One Look, No Second Chance, Gone for Good, and Tell No One have appeared at the top of all the major bestseller lists, including The New York Times, Book Sense, The Times (London), Le Monde, Publishers Weekly, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal, as well as many others throughout the United States and the world. His most recent book The Woods (2007) was a bestseller on lists across the country including USA Today, Publishers Weekly, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Nielsen Bookscan and Entertainment Weekly. Promise Me and The Woods were both named one of the best thrillers of the year by Library Journal. Coben's books are published in 38 languages and have 40 million copies in print world wide. His new novel, Hold Tight, will be published in the U.S. on April 15, 2008.

Coben's unique take on the American dream has struck an international chord. Bookspan, recognizing his broad appeal, named No Second Chance its first ever International Book of the Month in 2003.

Tell No One, Coben's first stand alone novel, was released as a film in France in 2006. A runaway smash, Tell No One has grossed over $32 million in France and Variety called the film, "a sharp, efficient package." Tell No One was directed by Guillaume Canet (Mon Idole), and features an all-star cast including Kristin Scott Thomas (Gosford Park), Nathalie Baye (Catch Me If You Can), and Marie-Josée Croze (Munich). The movie will be released in theaters in the US in the summer of 2008. FOX TV has purchased the rights to Coben's popular Myron Bolitar series for a pilot by Bones creator-executive producer Hart Hanson.
