Mankind has reached deep space. Separated from earth and each other by unimaginable reaches of space, forced to adapt to various diverse planetary environments the colonies have become isolated and inward looking, forgetting their pasts, losing touch with their humanity.
Until a mysterious ship found locked in the deep rock by a mining team on a planet whose surface is drenched in lethal radiation sparks off a deadly conspiracy that threatens man wherever he is. After his grim dystopias set on a failing earth Roger Levy has spread his wings to give us a broad and exciting science fiction novel of exotic locales and mindblowing ideas without losing any of his trademark pyschological acuity and elegant style.
About the Author
With his original ideas, and rigorous prose style Roger Levy quickly established himself as part of the boom in home-grown science fiction talent. He is a dentist and lives in Muswell Hill in North London with his wife and children.
"This is a good, propulsive tale that owes much to Philip K Dick's underground paranoia fable 'The Penultimate Truth' and is at times really sadistic (Levy is a dentist)." -- Andrew McKie THE TELEGRAPH "An impressively solid, hyper real novel about greed, corruption and violence, and surviving the near impossible. This book is not perfect - few novels are - but it reveals Levy as a man to watch (and buy). -- Jon Courtenay Grimwood SFX
