Comments about Handa's Surprise:
I love Africa, and I love the words and pictures in this book (the sequel, Handa's Hen, is even better!). I have ticked 'reference' because you could really use this as an educational too to study the different African animals that appear in the book - There is a guide to the name of each one in the back of the book which is great, especially if you have a preschooler who loves to ask "what's that called, Mum??" :-)
Rich, hot colours and fluid brush-strokes zap each scene into life... The Independent on Sunday ...so luscious it seems almost edible... The Observer With beautifully drawn animals and rich colours immaculately displayed on every page, this book is a brilliant introduction for toddlers and children under five years. Handa's Surprise featured as one of Pride Magazine's 'best books' for children. Featured/recommended Yellow Brick Road
