In a great green room, tucked away in bed, is a little bunny. "Goodnight room, goodnight moon." And to all the familiar things in the softly lit room--to the picture of the three little bears sitting in chairs, to the clocks and his socks, to the mittens and the kittens, to everything one by one--he says goodnight.

In this classic of modern children's literature, beloved by generations of readers and listeners, the quiet poetry of the words and the gentle, lulling illustrations combine to make a perfect book for the end of the day.

    Comments about Goodnight Moon:

First published in the 1940s, this bed time story has been enchanting children for many years. Parents may ponder the apparent fascination of this book as it appears quite "ho-hum". But, the story is like a little meditation mantra, quietly and gently calming your child. Goodnight Moon encourages a sense of gratitude for whatever is around us. There are lots of little details for children to notice too. This book is appropriate for infants, toddlers and the beginning reader as well. Great baby shower gift.

    Comment on this review

"A little rabbit bids goodnight to each familiar thing in his moonlit room. Rhythmic, gently lulling words combined with warm and equally lulling pictures make this beloved classic "an ideal bedtime book."-- "The Christian Science Monitor"
