Complete pantry makeover - 5 week kickstart program - 80+ recipes

Going Paleo is the only book you'll need to transform the way you eat - and change the way you look and feel - for good.

This comprehensive and user-friendly guide shows you both why to go paleo and how to go paleo, with over 80 essential recipes to get you started. Paleo expert and bestselling US author Nora Gedgaudas explains the why of going paleo and Pete Evans explains the how, with a run-down on the foods that have to go and what to replace them with; a detailed guide to setting up your paleo kitchen; and a 10-week kickstart eating plan to help you get started.

The recipes in Going Paleo are delicious, quick and highly nourishing. Breakfasts include Kale and Sweet Potato Tortilla and Paleo Parfait with Coconut Cream, while dinner might be Crispy-skinned Salmon with Celeriac Remoulade, Cauliflower Fried Rice with Bacon or a simple Lamb Moussaka. There are chapters for snacks and drinks and heaps of veggies and salads - try Raw Rainbow Pad Thai or Sauerkraut with Dill and Juniper Berries. There is also a chapter for the basics - Make your own fermented mustard or tomato ketchup, or cook up a big pot of chicken bone broth to use in various recipes throughout the week.

Going Paleo is for everyone who is interested in good health and eating real food - food that our ancestors would have recognised, that is nutrient dense and that provides our body with the right kind of fuel to perform at its absolute best.

Even though I am not going paleo, I have used Pete Evans cook books before when cooking and thought I would grab this and a couple of his other paleo books. As soon as we got it, me and the wife opened them up and started cooking. There are wonderful recipes in this book for the home cook, that do not take that long to cook. A few recipes call for some ingredients that I had never heard of before, but after a quick look on Google you know what you require or what you can grab out of your own pantry as a substitute. I have cooked meals out this book when we have had family and friends over an they love them, some have even went out and brought the book themselves.

                        Pete Evans

Born in Melbourne, raised on the Gold Coast and currently resides in Sydney â?? certified true blue Aussie.

Passions include fresh food, surfing, fishing â?? and cooking and living with a fantastically feel-good healthy focus.

Restaurants have been a part of Peteâ??s life since the age of 19. He has opened seven in his time as a chef and restaurateur, including The Pantry, Hugoâ??s Manly and, his latest success, a contemporary tapas bar in Melbourneâ??s CBD, the unique Bar Nacional.

High-profile catering is another proud passion â?? from a royal banquet for the Prince and Princess of Denmark to a private dinner for Martha Stewart or a gala Gâ??Day USA dinner for 600 in New York City, Pete loves making any event super special.

Cooking, food and lifestyle TV programs have been another of Peteâ??s highly successful pursuits. Starting out in 2001 as a co-presenter on the Lifestyle Channelâ??s Home show, his credits also include Postcards from Home, FISH, and co-host with Manu Feildel since 2009 of Channel 7â??s hugely and internationally successful My Kitchen Rules. Peteâ??s latest TV series, Moveable Feast, showcases Americaâ??s finest artisans, producers and chefs and is currently screening in the US.

Cookbooks? Of course! Pete has publishedâ?¨ seven of them, all internationally successful, and thereâ??s an eighth on the way.

Speaking about healthy eating and wellness is another passion of Peteâ??s. One of Australiaâ??s leading authorities on healthy cooking and lifestyle, he loves to share his knowledge and educate and motivate parents, children and corporate audiences. And they love him!

Supporting organisations in synch with his own values is another of Peteâ??s passions. He is involved with Regenesis Youth (a new organisation dedicated to empowering disengaged teenagers) and the Mindd Foundation (using integrative healthcare, including food as medicine, in the treatment of metabolic, immunologic, neurologic, digestive and developmental conditions that often affect the mind). Pete is also an ambassador of the Australian Organic Schools garden project.
