Each chapter includes facts, hints, inspiring lists, hundreds of quotes from real girls, and details for over 350 websites, books and other information. This completely revised edition, written in extensive consultation with more than 70 medical and practical experts, provides the most up-to-date and useful information possible.

    Comments about Girl Stuff:

I bought one for my miss 11 and 12 as a reference, but then I opened it and realised that I needed two, as it was likely that they would refer often, and probably not want to share it. Held out until I had both, and set them loose. I see them thumbing through for the next 10 years perhaps.

      Comments about Girl Stuff:

I bought this book (after reading other reviews) for my 11 year old daughter. Some of the chapters are a little old for her just yet but the mix of humour and frankness is the perfect way of sharing this important information to children who are probably hearing a lot from school friends (that may not be so accurate). I highly recommend this book.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter as a follow up to information sessions we attended about puberty. It's very useful, engaging and a wonderful resource.

            Comments about Girl Stuff:

I bought this book for my teenage daughter on good reference from a friend. What a pleasure! A thin thread of fun is spun between the heavy issues and processes of young girls turning into teenagers and then young adults. We discuss the issues raised in this book and it becomes a parent's best friend as it is impartial and a true guide to any young girl.

              Kaz Cooke

Kaz Cooke is an Australian author, cartoonist and radio broadcaster.

Her background is in news and feature journalism in Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin. Her career began a month after she left school, in 1981, at The Age newspaper and since then she’s written for heaps of other major daily newspapers (The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and the Canberra Times) and magazines (including Who Weekly and the Women’s Weekly).

Since becoming a Mum in 1998 she has mainly worked from home writing books in her pyjamas; and still doesn’t know why there were books in her pyjamas (boom, boom). There have been some scuttling forays into radio shows with varying degrees of success (from “this is fun!” to “I’d rather eat my own shins with a fork”). Kaz illustrates her own work with cartoons, since 1983 often featuring Hermoine the Modern Girl.

She continues to write books with her trademark mix of meticulous research and trustworthy information untainted by commercial interests, and blended with her friendly tone, honesty, sharp wit, and pyjamas. Kaz lives in Melbourne with her family and enjoys toast.
