Fans of the Divergent series by No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth will be thrilled by Four: A Divergent Collection , a companion volume that includes four pre-Divergent stories told from Tobias Eaton's point of view.

Readers first encountered Tobias Eaton as 'Four' in Divergent. His voice is an integral part of Allegiant. Readers will find more of this charismatic character's backstory told from his own perspective in Four: A Divergent Collection . When read together, these long narrative pieces illuminate the defining moments in Tobias Eaton's life.

The first three pieces in this volume - The Transfer, The Initiate and The Son - follow Tobias's transfer from Abnegation to Dauntless, his Dauntless initiation, and the first clues that a foul plan is brewing in the leadership of two factions. The fourth story, The Traitor runs parallel with the events of Divergent, giving readers a glimpse into the decisions of loyalty - and love - that Tobias makes in the weeks after he meets Tris Prior. Exclusive scenes included!

About the Author

Veronica Roth graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in creative writing. While she was a student, she often chose to work on the story that would become Divergent instead of doing her homework. It was indeed a transforming choice. Now a full-time writer, Ms Roth lives near Chicago. Her first novel, Divergent, was published by HarperCollins Children's Books in 2011 and the sequel Insurgent was published in 2012.

            Comments about Four:

Having read the Divergent series, I can highly recommend 'Four'. It delves further into the character and provides an alternative perspective and lots of interesting background information. Being a young mum, I don't get much time to read, but this whole series has rekindled my love of reading. For that I am so grateful! Definitely read it, but read the Divergent series first. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that it wasn't long enough!
