Product Description

Sarah Wilson - bestselling author and entrepreneur, intrepid solver of problems and investigator of how to live a better life - has helped over 1.2 million people across the world to quit sugar. She has also been an anxiety sufferer her whole life.

In her new book, she directs her intense focus and fierce investigatory skills onto this lifetime companion of hers, looking at the triggers and treatments, the fashions and fads. She reads widely and interviews fellow sufferers, mental health experts, philosophers, and even the Dalai Lama, processing all she learns through the prism her own experiences.

Sarah pulls at the thread of accepted definitions of anxiety, and unravels the notion that it is a difficult, dangerous disease that must be medicated into submission. Ultimately, she re-frames anxiety as a spiritual quest rather than a burdensome affliction, a state of yearning that will lead us closer to what really matters.

Practical and poetic, wise and funny, this is a small book with a big heart. It will encourage the myriad sufferers of the world's most common mental illness to feel not just better about their condition, but delighted by the possibilities it offers for a richer, fuller life.

During the reading of this book I have had many moments in my daily life that have contributed to anxious episodes. One of the biggest downsides in these moments, is that no-one quite gets it. But, Sarah gets it. She bares herself, and shows that no matter what life looks like on the outside, the inside is its own beast and we must come to terms with it. There is no easy way out, no one-size solution, but her words at least in the moment they are read, offer some hope that we're not alone. The best thing I took from this book was her companionship.

Anxiety is a result of unresolved trauma.
As someone who works with people with trauma and anxiety everyday this book makes me feel very uncomfortable.....
Whilst Sarah is open she doesn't explain or delve into her past trauma.
Sarah clearly thrives on being a anxiety victim.
This book scares me because she is almost trying to encourage anxiety.
I hope the Author resolves her past trauma.
I hope readers don't end up 'labelling' themselves 'anxious' because someone in the media has a 'label'.
Well written in the actual writing style.
YES she says she is not a professional
YES she says she's just sharing her story
Just very scary in the fact that she is trying to make a mental illness something cool to have.

Thought this book would be a comforting read about someone else's experience with mental health. Whilst Sarah talks about her many experiences it is full of medical and philosophical quotes and is written at the pace of someone talking at the speed of light. Sarah sadly at her best, rambling and making money from it. A depressing and stressful read I would not recommend to anyone let alone someone suffering with anxiety

I found snippets of myself and issues and it was very comforting to know your not alone. The techniques and tips that Sarah shares are ones that I have been using and ones that I'm know starting to try. My copy is written on, highlighted and dog eared for further reference. Thank you Sarah Wilson very bravely sharing your journey.
