Elvis Presley exploded onto the music scene in the mid-1950s, a cultural force the like of which had never been seen. The truck driver from Tupelo became the King of Rock 'n' Roll, ruling the charts and airwaves, racking up over a billion in record sales.
Elvis's smouldering looks, honeyed voice and hip-swivelling delivery drove the kids wild, and some parents to distraction. Hollywood beckoned, as did Uncle Sam, and after completing his military service, the mature Elvis triumphantly returned to live performance. The voice still melted hears, the legend only enhanced.
