One of the greatest legends ever told - the story of Sir Gawain and The Green Knight is brought to life in this bold and spectacular rendition of the age-old adventure tale from the producers of King Solomon's Mines and Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves.

When the mysterious Green Knight (Sean Connery) makes a spectacular entrance into King Arthur's fabled court unannounced he lays down a most remarkable challenge, speaking in fantastical rhymes and riddles, gathering the attention of all, he goads the king's men into taking up the gauntlet in order to prove their loyalty and worth. The only one to accept the challenge is the young and valiant Sir Gawain (Miles O'Keefe).

Knighted and blessed by King Arthur (Trevor Howard) and presented with his ceremonial armour Sir Gawain sets out with a loyal servant to accomplish a seemingly chivalrous task far beyond the kingdom of Camelot, in search of the answer to The Green Knight's riddle.
