Comments about Pride and Prejudice (1995) (Remasted Special Edition):

6 episodes follow the lives of the Bennet family's five daughters – their loves, their drama and the premeditated circumstances that will place them in the path of possible suitors. This period drama had wide international appeal and was the platform which thrust Colin Firth to international stardom.
Colin Firth is the proud and brooding Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle is the delightful and intelligent, second daughter, Elizabeth Bennet. This entire production is such a treat. Each must overcome their own pride and prejudices to eventually submit to love. The actors are authentic and compatible with each other and this shines through onto the screen.
This adaptation by screenwriter Andrew Davies exposed the works of Jane Austen to a much wider audience than the confides of those within the literary world.
This 2 disk remastered version contains 3 special features: The Making of, Pride & Prejudice: a Turning Point for Period Drama, and a Restoration Featurette. Also available on the DVD version is an audio description option for the visually impaired and English language subtitle option for the hearing impaired.
