Set in the mid-19th century, The Untold Story follows Magwitch's rough reputation and loathing for the upper-class, leading to a run-in with forger Roger Compeyson (Robert Coleby, Anzacs). Transported to Australia as a convict, Magwitch works hard to establish a new life - keeping his head low and neck out of the noose. Working for a man named Tankerton (Ron Haddrick) and befriending his daughter Bridget (Sigrid Thornton, The Man From Snowy River). Frustrated with Bridget's relationship with arch enemy Compeyson, Magwitch sets his sights on the gold rush, looking to strike it lucky one day and benevolently reward young Pip (Todd Boyce) back in England, a boy who truly helped him in his time of need.
