About the Author
Helen Nimmo is a talented artist who has truly captured the essence of Broome in the far North West of Australia with its fascinating early history and vibrant modern day lifestyle with her beautiful sketches of sketches of scenes and buildings in the town. Against each sketch she has written a brief historical note on the subject.
Her book enhances the tourism experience and one that will be treasured forever. Many of the drawings capture the towns distinctive architecture and include Broome's first Union Bank built in 1900, (now Matso's Cafe and Brewery), the Anglican Church built in 1903, the Streeter and Male building constructed in the 1980's and the fascinating Short Street Gallery house with its original wind scoop funnel.
