The very few of the infected who survive are dangerous and will be taken into the custody of the army.
Young runaway Callie survived the disease, but not the so-called treatment. Her brother Kai is still looking for her. And his new friend Shay may hold the key to uncovering what truly happened.
From the author of the international sensation Slated comes the first book in a powerful new story of survival and transformation; love and power.
About the Author
Teri Terry has lived in France, Canada, Australia and England at more addresses than she can count, acquiring four degrees, a selection of passports and an unusual name along the way. Past careers have included scientist, lawyer, optometrist and, in England, various jobs in schools, libraries and an audiobook charity. The footpaths and canal ways of the Buckinghamshire Chilterns where she now lives inspired much of the setting of her YA trilogy of futuristic thrillers - Slated, Fractured and Shattered.
I loved this book. It was a wonderful mix of everything that I love within a book. Teri Terry, this sits on par with Slated YA Obsessed I love Contagion. It has an interesting premise and the story is told with great action and a breathless pace. The central characters are well-drawn and relatable. It blends several genres -- conspiracy thriller, dystopian, sci-fi, even a bit of the supernatural -- to great effect. It has a wonderful, evocative setting and sense of landscape. I think Teri Terry has a real talent for writing exciting stories that are accessible and easy to read but also have a thought-provoking thematic depth. She makes you think The Bookbag Another award winner from Teri Terry! [...] This book is fantasy but thought provoking, much of it chillingly believable.
