About the Author
Robert M. Youngson (OStJ, MB, ChB, DTM&H, DO, FRCOphth) is a medical graduate of Aberdeen University and has postgraduate qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians of England, and from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has worked as a doctor in Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Germany and the United Kingdom. In a varied career he has been a general practitioner, a medical administrator, a public health medical officer and, for a number of years, was responsible for investigating ministerial inquiries on medical matters for the Army. He has been the chairman of various committees concerned with medical research, clinical instruction, medical libraries, and computerisation in medicine. Dr Youngson is now a full-time medical writer, and has to date published 37 books.
