Brett Kirk opens up about his life and the challenges and triumphs that made him one of the most admired AFL players in Australia.
There have been times throughout my life that have challenged who I am and I have not always held my head high and said: this is me.
In September 2010 Brett Kirk walked off the MCG, having played his final game of AFL for his beloved Sydney Swans. Many know him as the courageous captain who helped his team win the holiest of grails on the AFL calendar. What many people don't know is how he came to be such a tireless captain, honest teammate, and admired role model in both life and sport.
His next challenge is to help YOU!
Brett, with the help of his wife, Hayley, opens himself up like never before, sharing personal stories to guide you through the challenges of working out who you truly are, what drives you, what you love and ultimately who you want to be.
About the Author
Hayley knew she wanted to be a writer when she was six years old. Her story 'The Vegetable Man' was awarded a highly commended silver certificate at the 1983 Wagga Wagga show. A whole lot of stories, a Bachelor of Education degree and some years later while working at Taronga Zoo as an Education Officer, Hayley expanded her imagination further and learnt to talk to the animals - well, more specifically, a chicken named 'Omo' and a pig named 'Clementine'. Hayley hopes to add to this list one day.

Comments about Brave Heart : Brett Kirk's Journey:
Excellent book. Finally something different from a Sports personality when they make the choice to write a book. This is for footy fans, parents and teenagers (male and female). It is the catalyst to begin great coversation and communication. Your site recommends it for 9 - 12years not so. That is too young!
