Their only hope lies with Hildi, a castle maidservant, and her fearless brother Peter. Can they save the girls from their dreadful fate? Only one thing is certain- the Demon Huntsman will not return to his dark wood unsatisfied!

Comments about Count Karlstein:
This is a well produced multi-voice audiobook which unfolds as a play. The characters tell the tale from their perspectives and are superbly cast -- for a Scrooge miserly uncle to a cute yet resilient little girl. There are effects and music too to add to the atmosphere. Like most od Pullman's writing, there is a comeuppance to be had and maybe even a happily ever after?!
