Booktopia Comments

One of Ken Duncan's most successful books. He travelled to every state in the USA to complete the book and there are photos of every state to prove it. The USA publisher laughed at him when he suggested the idea of taking photos in each state. After about 30 states Ken was wondering whether it was a good idea too, but he persevered and in the end, with his faith in God, he completed a worthy project. The sub-title is "In God We Trust" but this is not a religious book in anyway, it is a majestic display of nature's splendour. Stunning!

This is an absolute collectible and Booktopia has the very last stock left that will ever be available for sale in new condition, so please place your order ASAP because it will be going and not be back again. Plus if you think this sounds wonderful and you love to order the boxed case platinum edition for a very reduced price then we have the last copies of those as well, so please click here to buy that edition.

Book Description

America Wide - In God We Trust is a celebration of the diversity and natural splendor of a uniquely blessed land.

Here - for the first time ever - is a selection of images from all fifty American states in panoramic format: deserts and mountains, rivers and canyons, thundering waterfalls, ancient forests, rolling pastures and idyllic homesteads.

For award-winning Australian photographer Ken Duncan, the collection represents a three-year journey of discovery to many of America's most beautiful and awe-inspiring locations. From the deserts of Arizona and the vast Alaskan wilderness to the dappled tranquility of a Massachusetts autumn and the sun-drenched beaches of Hawaii, Ken Duncan's Panographs glow with light and colour, delighting the eyes and inspiring the heart.

What is a Panograph? A Panograph is a panoramic photograph by Ken Duncan - a wide shot capturing the essence of a place at a particular point in time - inviting the viewer to share in the moment of its original inspiration.

About the Author

Ken Duncan is well known as the pioneer of Limited Edition Photographic Art in Australia. After a visit to New York in the early 1980's, Ken returned home with a dream to have photography widely accepted as an art form in this country. The increasing number of Australian photographers now emulating his panoramic style and finding a market for their work is testimony to Ken's success.

          Comments about America Wide:

YES ... THIS TITLE IS A HARD BACK COVER BOOK ... WELL READING THIS HOWEVER BECOMES A BIT CUMBERSOME ... AND A 'PAPERBACK' EDITION DOES NOT SEEM A FEASIBLE IDEA TO KEN DUNCAN ... AS THIS WOULD WELL HAVE PROVED QUITE 'MANAGEABLE' AND FAR MORE ENJOYABLE !!! !!!

              Comments about America Wide:

Anyone interested in panoramic photography (and America) will gain a lot from reading and rereading this book. In absolute terms, this is not Ken's best work, but as with any genius, however flawed, even the mediocre product should gain our attention.
