This title features from O-pun the door to 1001 witty, silly and/or far-fetched puns. Categories include politics, science, entertainment, sex and other sports, religion, literature, and the kind of word-play that kids giggle over. Some entries are one-liners, others involve lead-ins, and all will have you howling or groaning, but certainly laughing. Examples include: Since Winona Ryder got a hernia, her agent doesn't want her lifting anything. Orphans never get what is apparent. Whenever I think of Roy Rogers' horse, it triggers a lot of emotion. Also, when I think about the Rockettes, it kicks up a lot of feelings. From cornball to cutting-edge, Blake delivers a masterful collection of puns great for any jokester and shtick-loving wordsmith.

About the Author

Gary Blake is the author of more than a dozen books. His first book, The Status Book (Doubleday, 1978), anticipated the status-conscious 1980s. His latest humor book, The I-Hate-Kathie-Lee-Gifford Book (Kensington) foresaw the Kathie Lee sweatshop and Giffordgate scandals. Blake is director of The Communication Workshop, a company that presents writing as well as humor-in-the-workplace workshops at Fortune 500 companies. Also, Dr. Blake is the co-author of The Elements of Business Writing, now in its 18th printing, with more than 100,000 copies in print.
